The taiga biome is the worlds largest biome. It is in the northern hemisphere below the tundra. The average temperature in the taiga is below freezing for half of the year. The other half the highest it can get is seventy degrees Fahrenheit. So the taiga biome is a cold climate a lot of the time. Spring and fall are very short in the taiga so it is either cold or hot most of the time. The average precipitation for the taiga biome is ten to thirty inches per year.

There are many different types of animals in the taiga biome. There are mostly insects in the taiga, but there are also other species to. Most of the mammals in the taiga have a thick coat because of the cold weather. The majority of the animals are seed eating animals like squirrels and jays. There are many predators in the taiga too. One of the main predators is the grizzly bear. There are also lynx, wolverines, and wolves. The taiga has major national parks in it as well such as Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Sequoia.
